Day 65, the Folk Tales litter may arrive at any time
Naisha har nå lagt på seg totalt 5,6kg. I forhold til tidligere kull på andre tisper skulle de tilsi ca 4 valper, og det er ikke lenge til vi får fasiten. I dag er dag 65 fra første paring, det vil si det er første mulige termindato når man teller fra paringsdato. Det sagt så er 65 dager er drektighetsperioden til en hund fra eggløsning. Tisper er mottakelige for paring rundt eggløsningsdagen, men både litt før og litt etter kan de bli paret. Slik sett kan det godt være under 65 dager siden eggløsning i dag, og da vil valpene komme noe seinere.
Naisha selv er foreløpig veldig rolig og viser ingen av de typiske tegnene på oppblokkingen skal ha startet. Oppblokkingen kan ta opp til 36 timer, så det er nok en stund til valpene er ute. Ellers viser hun de typiske tegnene på at fødselen nærmer seg. Hun er kvikkere enn forrige uke, sover mye, har blitt veldig komfortabel med valpekassa si og ligger en del i den. Hun graver litt og gjør kassa klar for valpene. Melken har kommet og alt er egentlig klart. Det er bare å vente på at valpene gir signal om det nå er på tide å bli født :)

Naisha has gained 5,6kg today. In relations to previous litters from other girls, this should mean she has about 4 puppies, and we will know for sure in a little while. Today it's the 65th day since her first mating, which means it's the first possible term date counting from the time of mating. Hower 65 days of pregnancy is the duration from the ovulation to the birth. Bitches are receptive to males around the ovulation day, a bit before and a bit after. This means it might not be the 65th day since ovulation today, and the puppies will arrive a bit later.
Naisha is so far very calm and show no signs of the typical signs of the first stage of labour which might last for up to 36 hours. I recon it will b a bit more time untill we see the puppies arrival. She does show the typical sings that labour is aproching. She is a bit more alert than last week, sleeps a lot, have become very comfortable with her whelping box and stays quite a bit in it. Digs around in the box and makes it ready for her puppies. The milk has come down and everything is ready. The only thing left is to wait for the puppies to give a signal that it's time to get born :)

| Dag 58, slapper av på sofaen. Mye av pelsen på magen er alt borte. Tispene røyter av seg denne pelsen slik at valpene lettere kommer til melkebaren. Day 58 relaxes on the sofa. | Utviklingen fra før paring til dag 65. Hun ser ikke så mye større ut fra uke 8, men har gått opp over 1kg, og pelsen på magen har forsvunnet som gjør at hun ser litt mindre ut. The development from before mating untill day 65. She doesn't look much bigger from week 8, but has gained more than a 1kg, and the coat on her belly has disappeared which makes her look a bit smaller than she really is. |
